I have learned from those who took the time to teach me about scripture, many things. One of those things is that a high and exalted One such as Our God whose mind conceived the inner and outer workings of a "you" and a "me", is so great and so vast that in comparison we are truly amoeboid. So how does such a One talk to such as we are in knowledge and understanding of Him? In the simplest form; in patterns sequences and pictures or perhaps a better word may be pictorial phrases called imagery. I have my degree and my "I love me wall had a lot of accomplishments all of which are noble and a testimony to His Glory but they are trash in light of this. No I had to trash all my education to come to this place. A very wise person once taught ,me that to read the scripture with prayer and reflective thought on what you are reading and look at the patters and images in it and find where they are first mentioned and then where they are repeated in both Testaments, is the easiest way to gain a rapid understanding of "Abba".
And so I have done.
"And a redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who return from the transgression in Jacob", declares the Lord.
A redeemer has the power to buy back from something. Jesus is the only one with the power to buy back from the fall those who are concieved and shaped in iniquity, the agent of His purchase is His own blood. Now how many times do we hear that in a service? But what does that mean beyond the fact that we get on the "ins" with the Father? But this redeemer comes to Zion. Zion is as it turn out and interesting place but you'd better bring the canteen. (Strongs # 6726) from 6725 tseun a monumental or guiding pillar:- sign waymark title. From 6724 tsion a desert:- a dry place. From 6723 tsya ; from an unused root meaning to parch; aridity; concrete. a desert:- barren, drought, dry ( land, place), solitary place, wilderness.
Now this redeemer has also said that He is the Living or running water of the dry place(s) and from those who ingest Him as water a spring of water will gush forth from their inner most being. IN The Father it is dry it is hard it is the "curse" if you will of Torah which is unfulfillable due to the fall. But in the Blood of Yeshua whose name is salvation or redemption there is water to be had to quench the dryness of Torah and removing all restrictions of access as the curtain between Holy place and Holy of Holies fell to all that God had kept back because as unredeemed we were unable and unworthy to see it. But the "water" has "washed" us and we are "clean" and able and worthy to "see". This is the redeemer that has come. Now I have also learned that prophetic scripture has layered unfoldings applications and fulfillments can happen repeatedly especially id the prophecy is more an eternal principle than a simple forecast of the future. This has happened once , for indeed the redeemer did come to Zion and gave to the "whosoever would" the water that made the "letter" or Torah become life is the Spirit. Torah is the seed in our soil and Yeshua is the water and the light which provides all but one element to flower, the last the breath is provided by the Ruach ha kodesh or the Breath of a Holy God. God breathed into clay and it lived God breathed into man and man dies. Dies to all the fallen nature and understanding that he might finally "know" the truth and "live" forever. This is the first coming but again He comes as King of Glory and the gates of the dry place are to be opened unto Him. So He comes to this place that the "born from above born not of human means but divine blood" have come to where they are pressed and dried out in the "knowing" of the Father. He comes to those who have "turned from transgression" in Jacob. Jacob was the surplanter and the heel catcher. Now the covenant with Eve suddenly comes to mind where in the seed would have his heel caught and bruised. It was the Sons of Jacob the heel catchers who opened the way for the cross to be accomplished. Why then would they be on the "outs" with God? They knew that if Jesus would ever have become king or worse they would lose their place for they were leaders of the spiritual condition of the nation and they were in the bondage of self righteousness that gives God they "bum's rush" saying, " I am righteous I don't need you.". To have turned from transgression in Jacob is then to have turned from self-righteousness and all the stuff that goes with it. Like leaning on your own understanding and NOT acknowledging Him in all your ways. Ways then being planned of the life and thoughts of the mind and inclinations of the heart.
21 "And as for Me, this is the covenant with them", says the Lord: "My Spirit which is upon and My Words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouths of your offspring, nor from the mouths of your offspring's offspring", says the Lord ,"from now and forever".
Here is the full plan. The covenant with "them" is the blood of the cross and the Spirit is that which was given us on Pentecost (Shavuot) who would lead us into all truth. Then the Word the logos and Rhema in the mouth is the understanding of God through the Logos and Rhema or the illumining of the mind by the power of God at work in us through the agency of His Spirit. We live the life clarified that his light might shed His love into our hearts and the children we rear see it and chances are they choose likewise and their kids and so on and so on, for what dope it say? That we might be saved and our whole house with us?
Arise shine for you light has come and the Glory of Lord has risen upon you,
Now we come to an interesting statement, its a one liner "get up and glow because you've become illumined as the Glory has "risen" on you." This is a command; this is a "do it" thing. Now we spoke of this illumining in the last verse. It came from the agreement that to whom the blood had been applied there would ability to become a "son of God" be given which is the purpose of the Most Holy Spirit, to lead us into to all truth and cause us to recall all He has ever spoken to us. To be led into all truth is to have the Logos opened to us and to be made to recall is to have us reminded of both the Logos taught us and every Rhema ever spoken to us by God and God alone. Our willingness to become immersed in Messiah causes us to become clear, and the clearer we are the more the Light illumines us and then it is as though the Glory of God has risen upon us. Now thus endowed we are told to shine. Because all around us is darkness. What must be understood here is that this place that is to clarified is what folks call the heart but science calls the reasoning intellect of thinking ability decision rendering reason and mental physical enablement which also includes the senses and the emotions which are our ability to receive input and our feedback mechanism. This is the inner man the inner workings of the human being and this is where the Psalmist admits that God has desired truth here. The darkness then is at first in the spirit of the man then in the mind of the man then in the works of the man, and God is the agent that hardness the spirit of the man causes deceit to be allowed to take hold of the mind of the man that all that man does then causes chaos physically. You get enough of these in this state and there will a world of hurt pain and suffering out there and this is that darkness. But we have the LIGHT it has slowly risen on us till we are eclipsed in it and we cease to be and He becomes all that is seen or at least remembered when we are remembered.
2) for behold darkness will cover the Earth(land) deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you.
This then is the Glory that they see.
3) and the nations (goyim) will come to the brightness of your rising.
The nations the Goyim the uncovenented will come to hear what you have to say because suddenly yours will be the only voice of reason. But also the greater picture opens up here because the Author now speaks in twos us and something else. The something else is the King and His Kingdom. The obvious references to the day when Jesus rules are not to be ignored for they will come to the brightness of His rising, but are we not told that when He appears we will know Him for we will be as He is?
4) lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come from afar to you. Your sons and your daughters will be carried in the arms.
The children of the Father gathering carried in the arms of the more mature, this is those who are wounded or to young in the faith to understand what is happening. They are carried by Him as He brings all things together for the good.
5) then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.
The abundance of the sea the wealth of the nations. The abundance of the sea is the yield of the souls that will come into the kingdom and the wealth of the nations is all they will bring with them which is why the order is as it is listed.
6) a multitude of camels will cover you, the young camels from Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba will come; they will bear gold and frankincense, and will bear good news of the praises of the Lord.
Camels are Mideastern burden bearers who can stand to traverse the desert for they have in them all the water they need from a single filling. They then are adequate to carry things and people across the burning sands and desolate wastes of the Mediterranean deserts. But these bring specific things to the Ones upon whom the glory has risen. Midian (Strongs # 4080) from 4079 brawling, contention which is a variant on 4066 which is brawling contest contentious discord strife. Now they come from there but they are not like those of the region else they would have stayed. The strife made them able to rise above discord to bring "harmony". Midian is also the name of one of Abraham's sons. Ephah (Strongs # 5891) from 5890 which the feminine form from 5774:- obscurity. These are those who have not been known or seen or paid attention to yet they toil tirelessly. Ephah is also Midian's son. Sheba (Strongs # 7614) which gives no indication of the name.
However Strongs does list with Sheba the name Bathsheba. Now the Hebrews do not say her name thusly they call her Batsheva which is daughter of sheva. Which leads me to think that the name is anglicized. But there is also a "b" or "bet" is Hebrew so if there are scholars to correct please do so. Following on the Hebrew spelling of Batsheva I conclude the word may be "sheva" Sheva is the Hebrew mark that indicates a pause in the syllable of a word and the word for silence. Basing on this premise the other burden bearers then would come out of silence or they would begin to speak for the very first time. This is Also a son of Jokshan who is a son of Abraham. His name means insidious (deceptive). What they bring is as important as where they come from. They bring frankincense which is used in Temple incense or worship they also bring Gold which is divinity, and the good news of the praises of the Lord.
To them also are gathered some other interesting types.
7) all the flocks of Kedar will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will minister to you; they will go up with acceptance on My altar, and I shall glorify My glorious house (David's house)
Flocks indicate sheep who are the most basic Christian. They only know the voice not what is said just the sound of the voice. But these are from Kedar and that is both black and mourning. Now we come to the tying image with Isaiah 61, they are those mourning in Zion. Mourning loss mourning suffering in the place of desolation. They become the charges of those who have the Glory upon them. But in addition to the many, many sheep we have rams. Rams are special, a ram is what replaced Isaac on the altar in the mountains. Rams are mature male sheep whose full horns have the power to fight fro the ewes or female sheep at mating season. The first time a ram shows up is Gen. 15:9 where God and Abram are about to covenant together. God tells Abram to among other things bring Him a ram. Again after the Isaac episode of Gen. 22;13 we see the ram in Exodus. Ex 29th chapter at the consecration for investiture to priesthood before the Almighty of Aaron. So the ram was sacrificed and whole burnt a soothing aroma for consecration it was also used for trespass for burnt offerings and peace offerings, as an atonement during the High Holy Days etc. These are those who minister to the ones upon whom the glory has risen and these rams come from Nebaioth (strong # 5032) fruitfulness. They are full of the fruit of the Spirit and they are ministering to the ones upon whom the Glory has risen. The Glorified ones are the Sons of God revealed. They are also the Beloved of the Beloved Son. They are the Davids and to them in the wilderness are gathered these others. The others either assist the work of tending and feeding the sheep, children et al. Whilst these "rams" tend the Sons themselves so that at every side the Sons are free to as the Apostles did study the word and pray!
8) who are like these who fly like a cloud, and like the doves to their lattices.?
These Sons (and daughters) of God rise above they "fly" to their place or lattice. I this instance the idea of the Lattice is more of the dovecote then the snare. For a dovecote is a place for rest that is protected and sheltered. God is the "dovecote" wherein the "Sons" dwell.
9) Surely the coastlands will wait for Me; and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel because he has glorified you.
The first is a question of possible doubt will those places outside the covenant wait for God? Yes. For they send water traversing cargo vessels. Where as the camels which brought from the desert were land traversing vessels. Tarshish (Strongs # 8659) from 8658 the place of stone and the stone is topaz. The topaz is also the second stone on the Ephod of the priest and it represents the tribe of Simeon whose name means hearing. Water is represented as the seas or the nations or the people or the Living Water of the Spirit. This water is like the desert the camels come through. The desert is the place of dryness or the Logos and the water is the place of the depth of anointing in the Spirit Like Ezekiel's river that could not be forded or swum, which is the Rhema, and these vessels cross over it bearing silver which represents Calvary and gold which represents the Father. Now doesn't Jesus tell us that the only way to get to the Father is through the son? Doesn't He also tell us that the only true worship is that which is in Spirit and Truth? Or Rhema and Logos?
10) and foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will minister to you; for in My wrath I struck you, and in My favor I have had compassion upon you.
Now then we add to the "team" the foreigners or sympathizers to the "cause". The foreigner has always been outside the covenant which is salivation in Christ. Ever hear of Schindler's list? The "kings" or those with means and clout among them will also "minister" to the ones upon whom the glory has risen. But why all this? Because God struck us and now there is compassion. For a along while now there has prophetic talk of a fall of the U.S. and a possible backlash against the Christians and Jews here. What I see is a pattern. The Lord gathers those with His insight and to them gathers those who are equipped to serve under the Ones upon whom the glory has risen, the trembling frightened flocks like the cattle of Joel who are perplexed even vexed by what has happened in their midst, the sympathizer who helps the work and those in position to be of assistance who help the work, of what? If you read 1 Sam. Where David (the Beloved) is in the wilderness and certain people gather to him, then you understand that this is the same thing, except those upon whom the glory has risen are the Sons revealed and the Beloved of God. What happened in the holocaust? How many movies do we have on this theme? These foreigners are gentiles whose hearts God has softened that He may have mercy on whom He has disciplined.
11) and your gates will be continually open they will not be closed day or night, so that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, with their kings led in procession.
The gates are doors very big doors to the city. The illumined city that shines in the darkness whose light is the Light of the world. Another way to put this is the gathering of the Sons of God a.k.a. the body of Christ. These are open and the wealth of the Goyim is brought in. Now certainly in Jesus kingdom this speaks of tithal tribute, but in this case we speak of provisions for the "cause". Notice who leads the procession, those with the positions to enable the "work".
12) For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly ruined.
This is like the Abrahamic covenant, the blessing of those who bless and the cursing of those who curse and this is God who enacts this word.
13) the Glory of Lebanon will come to you, the juniper (fir) the box (pine)tree, and the cypress (box)together to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I shall make the place of My feet glorious.
The glory of Lebanon or the light of purity will come to the Ones upon whom the Glory has risen. This former glory being the knowledge of God in Christ Jesus. Add to this juniper or fir, box or pine, and cypress or box; trees. The fir (Strongs # 1265) b'rosh of uncertain derivation possibly cypress? Hence a lance or musical instrument. Pine (Strongs # 8410) tidhar the lasting enduring tree. Box (Strongs # 8391) t'ashur from 833 asher straight honest. The upright. So we have the enduring, the upright, and the lance ( a lance is an offensive weapon which is straight and strong for unseating another from horseback ) that these are trees is an image out of Song of songs where the Beloved is as a certain tree among the trees of the forest. Or rather a certain person among the gestalt of humanity.
These are those equipped to beautify the house of worship. They are those who make war in the heavenlies who contend not with flesh and blood but with principalities and all. They are the dread warriors who are in their maturity, pure. They are David's valiant men.
14) and the sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you, and all those who despised you will bow themselves at the soles of your feet; and they will call you the city of the lord (Eyr ha Adonai or Jeru-Adonai) the Zion of the Holy One of Israel. (Zion Yeshua).
Now we get to everyone's hope. To be avenged. If that is your hope you lack in love. The sons of the enemies bow before us calling the 'city' of the Lord or the called out ones. And the desolate place of the Holy One. Both these are titles for Jesus. Those who told us we were out of order, or doctrinally wrong, or deceived will look at us and admit they were wrong! They will call us the gathering of the Lord's own the true chosen of God. Why? Because the "glory" will have risen upon us and the others will have come to us.
15) Where as you have been forsaken and hated with no one passing through, i will make you an everlasting pride, a joy from generation to generation.
16) you will also suck ( take in) the milk of the nations, and suck (gather from) the breast of kings; then you will know that I the Lord am your redeemer the Mighty One of Jacob.
17) Instead of bronze I will bring gold. Instead of iron I will bring silver, and instead of wood,. Bronze, and instead of stones, iron.
And I will make peace your administrators and righteousness your overseers,
18) Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devastation of destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls salvation (Yeshua)and your gates praise (Judah).
19) no longer will you have the sun for light by day, nor for brightness will the moon give you light; but you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, and your God for your Glory.
20)Your sun will set no more, neither will your moon wane; for you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be finished.
21)Then all your people will be righteous; they will possess the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified,
22) the smallest one will become a clan, the least one a mighty nation. I the Lord will hasten its time.
This then is the estate of the millennial Jerusalem in the one application and the state of the "sons of God " in the other. He is our light we rejoice in His presence, we have joy when the world is in sorrow. We have peace and stability when the world is in utter chaos. We go against the grain and from the one with the worst discernment to the one with the greatest there will still be the effect of great power. They are those who know their God and do great exploit in His name. Like the ones at the end of Mark.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and freedom to prisoners;
2) to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,
3) to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
The liberation of the shining of the Light.. it brings wholeness to the broken, by silencing the lies that afflict the weary worn. It shines on the lock and key to open the chains that bind, It shows the prisoner the way out The Light shines love into hearts undoing every evil intention of the enemy. In the silencing of the lie the garland is given. In revealing the lock and key of the chains that bind, the oil of joy pours forth and in revealing the door the way out it brings praise and strength. The garland is for the mind. The oil is for the heart. The mantle is for the body. When He shines forth the love of God it liberates from bondage, isolation, and sickness.
4) Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will raise up the former devastations, and they will repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.
Now these can begin the task of rebuilding ancient ruins. Undoing former devastations repairing ruined cities which were empty places for a long time. The only thing that qualifies in all three categories is the ancient way of the ancient of days. This then is the teaching of the Torah as it was meant to be taught.
5) and strangers will stand and pasture your flocks, and foreigners will be your farmers and your vinedressers.
While all this is going on the sympathizer will be tending to the provision and the sheep. Farming and vindressing bring bread and wine to the table for the sheep to eat. Moreover they feed the sheep.
6) But you will be called the priests of the Lord; you will be spoken of as ministers of our God. You will eat the wealth of the nations, and in their riches you will boast.
7) instead of your shame, a double portions and instead of humiliation they will shout for joy over their portion in their land, everlasting joy will be theirs.
But the Ones upon whom the glory has risen will be called priests. In the Old Testament the priest was the Levite who had no other portion than what the tribes brought to the temple and what was provided from the land. We are those Levites. We tend to God's things and the "team" tends to the periphery and the "foreigner" tends to those who are our charges in the areas of provisions and distributions.
This is also the way it will be in the Kingdom of the son of David.
8) For I the Lord love justice, I hate the robbery in burnt offering; and I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9) Then their offspring will be known among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the people. All who see them will recognize them because they are the offspring whom the Lord has blessed.
Why? Because God has begun to pay back all the peoples offender and lover alike.
There is so much more depth to this that I cannot write because there is little time left to even share just this. There is a dark hour coming when the Christian and Jew will endure yet another holocaust. One that will make small the previous. On this soil it will start.
