Issues revisited…
Consider the woman who had the endless off and on menses. Consider the Lamb of God purposefully walking down the people crowded dusty lane after a desperate man with a dying child the rabbi of a synagogue…. They meet and it is faith that causes a wonder to behold….
25 A woman who had had a
hemorrhage for twelve years, 26 and had endured much at the
hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at
all, but rather had grown worse-- 27 after hearing about
Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak. 28 For
she thought, "If I just touch His garments, I will get well." 29 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up;
and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction. 30 Immediately
Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth,
turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My
garments?" 31 And His disciples said to Him, "You
see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, `Who
touched Me?' " 32 And He
looked around to see the woman who had done this. 33 But the
woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell
down before Him and told Him the whole truth. 34 And He said
to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed
of your affliction." nas
But she was
socially outcast as unclean. She risks
being hurt or worse killed in the press and ass she was recognized in the
enactment of good old fashioned Torah Law.
So what would possess her to do such a thing? What was she thinking?!
20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of
blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself,
If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But
Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good
comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that
hour. Kjv

And here it
is 28 For she thought, "If I
just touch His garments, I will get well."
It was a traditional train of thought in the day that to touch the tzizit or fringe of the Tallit of
a “holy man” perhaps a prophet or priest would heal one of any and all
ailments. Her’s
was a whopper!
The thing
is that she so believed it that she acted on her convictions and was rewarded… with He who IS
Faith in the Body of the Son. (For the
fullness of the Godhead did dwell in Him bodily!)
She met
with Father. To have such deep abiding
conviction that you simply “do it” is a gift from God.
